Google Unveils Fitbit Air, an AI-Powered Personal Health Coach

Google has officially launched Fitbit Air, a new AI-driven wellness platform designed to act as a personalized health assistant rather than just a fitness tracker.

Integrated with Fitbit and Google Health services, Fitbit Air combines data from wearable devices, sleep monitoring, heart rate tracking, recovery metrics, activity logs, and even health records to deliver tailored wellness recommendations. The system uses artificial intelligence to analyze long-term habits and adapt its coaching based on user behavior and health trends.

The wearable supports several advanced health tracking features, including 24/7 heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen (SpO2) tracking, heart rhythm analysis with AFib alerts, resting heart rate measurement, and heart rate variability tracking. Fitbit Air also monitors sleep stages and automatically detects workouts while generating post-exercise summaries.

One of its standout AI features allows the device to scan nearby gym equipment and recommend workouts based on the user’s fitness profile and recovery condition. Google says the platform is designed for a broad audience, from fitness enthusiasts and professionals to everyday users aiming to improve their health or lose weight.

The launch marks another major step in Google’s growing push into AI-assisted healthcare and wearable technology following the company’s deeper integration of Fitbit into the Google ecosystem. Instead of simply displaying raw fitness data, Fitbit Air focuses on providing actionable, AI-generated guidance to users throughout the day.

The device offers up to seven days of battery life, supports fast charging that delivers hours of use in just five minutes, and features seamless switching between the Fitbit Air and compatible Pixel Watch devices for daytime and sleep tracking.

Fitbit Air works with both Android and iOS devices and is now available for pre-order through the Google Store for $99. However, Google has not yet confirmed shipping availability in the Philippines.
