Naga Partners with DEPDev to Launch AI-Powered City Planner
The initiative, known as Naga’s AI City Planner, is funded by the National Innovation Council (NIC), where DEPDev serves as vice chair. The project aims to provide city officials with timely, data-driven insights to develop more effective transport and mobility solutions. Using advanced data analytics, the platform and accompanying application will monitor and analyze traffic patterns, mobility trends, and land-use information to support informed decision-making.
The AI system will also allow motorists and pedestrians to report road accidents and illegal parking incidents directly to local authorities. These real-time reports will help officials update public transport routes and revise comprehensive land-use plans more efficiently.
The city has been allocated ₱6.79 million for the implementation of the project.
DEPDev Undersecretary Rosemarie Edillon emphasized that the initiative demonstrates how AI can improve the delivery of government services and support local governments in addressing urban challenges more effectively.
“This project shows that technology, especially AI, can help local government units become more efficient and responsive to the needs of their constituents,” Edillon said.
With this partnership, Naga positions itself at the forefront of smart city development in the Philippines, embracing AI to create a more organized, responsive, and sustainable urban environment.
