DepEd Launches Project Agap.AI to Make Learning More Interactive

 

Quezon City — The Department of Education (DepEd) officially launched Project Agap.AI on Friday, January 9, 2026, marking a step toward integrating artificial intelligence (AI) in classrooms across the country.

For Milanie Cayanan, Master Teacher I at Quezon City Science High School, AI presents an exciting opportunity to enhance teaching strategies and create a more engaging learning environment for students.

“AI can give us more opportunities in our teaching strategies, especially through gamification. It helps make lessons more fun and interactive, which the students really enjoy,” Cayanan said. She added that incorporating AI could transform traditional lessons into dynamic experiences, keeping students more engaged and entertained.

Project Agap.AI aims to harness AI technologies to support educators in designing innovative lesson plans, improving instructional methods, and ultimately enriching the classroom experience for learners.

As schools continue to explore technology-driven education, initiatives like Project Agap.AI signal a shift toward a more interactive, student-centered approach in the Philippine education system.
