Philippines, UAE strengthen AI alliance for Luzon tech hub
The Philippines and the United Arab Emirates are deepening their partnership beyond trade as both nations push for stronger cooperation in artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure under the emerging “Pax Silica” framework.
During meetings in Abu Dhabi, Filipino officials led by Ceferino Rodolfo met with UAE representatives headed by Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi to discuss how the recently signed Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) can help accelerate the Philippines’ AI ambitions.
The talks focused on supporting the country’s planned 4,000-acre AI-native industrial acceleration hub in Luzon, a major technology project being developed in partnership with the United States.
Officials said the “Pax Silica” initiative aims to position the Philippines and UAE as rising players in the global digital economy by combining trade, technology, and AI-driven innovation. The framework is also expected to strengthen investments in data infrastructure, smart industries, and next-generation digital services.
The partnership marks a shift in Philippine-UAE relations from traditional economic cooperation toward long-term collaboration in advanced technologies, highlighting the growing importance of AI in regional development and global competitiveness.
