Google AI Studio Gets New Android App and Workspace Features
At Google I/O 2026, Google announced new features for Google AI Studio.
One of the main updates is the ability to build Android apps directly inside AI Studio.
Users can create native Android apps using prompts, without installing software or setting up development tools. The platform can also preview apps using a browser-based Android emulator.
Google AI Studio now also works with Google Workspace services like Sheets and Drive. This allows users to build apps that can access documents, files, and spreadsheet data.
Google added new design tools as well. Users can generate images for apps and edit app previews directly inside AI Studio.
A new Google AI Studio mobile app was also announced. It lets users manage projects, test prompts, and monitor app development directly from their smartphones.
According to Google, these updates aim to make app development easier and more accessible for both beginners and experienced developers.
The new features are expected to roll out gradually in the coming weeks
