Alipay Unveils AI Payment System Allowing Autonomous Agents to Transact for Users

Alipay has launched a new AI-driven payment processing system that enables autonomous AI agents to complete transactions directly with businesses—including One Person Companies (OPCs)—marking a major step forward in agent-based commerce.

The newly introduced product allows businesses to accept payments when AI agents act on behalf of users, eliminating the need for companies to develop their own payment or settlement infrastructure. Available through Alipay’s platform, the system simplifies how businesses monetize services in an increasingly AI-powered economy.

This latest innovation follows the rollout of Alipay AI Pay in 2025, a consumer-facing solution designed to support seamless payments via AI agents. Building on that foundation, the new system expands capabilities for businesses by enabling them to onboard services and receive payments automatically whenever an AI agent completes a transaction.

According to Alipay, the platform is designed to support a range of use cases, including travel bookings, price comparisons, and digital service purchases—all executed by AI agents with user approval.

One early adopter is Bocha, an AI-powered search tool integrated into applications like DeepSeek. Bocha allows users to submit requests through AI agents, which then carry out tasks and prompt users to confirm payments before delivering results.

Alipay also reported strong growth in its AI payment ecosystem. As of February 2026, Alipay AI Pay has surpassed 100 million users and processed over 120 million transactions in a single week, highlighting rapid adoption of AI-enabled financial services.

With this new offering, Alipay positions itself at the forefront of agent-based commerce, where AI systems not only assist users but also act on their behalf—reshaping how transactions are conducted in the digital economy.
