Filipino AI Startups Take Center Stage at Singapore Tech Expo

Seven Filipino startups specializing in artificial intelligence are set to showcase their innovations at GITEX AI Asia 2026 in Singapore, underscoring the Philippines’ growing momentum in the global tech landscape. Their participation reflects the country’s continued progress in innovation, following its 50th-place ranking out of 139 economies in the Global Innovation Index 2025 and its recognition as one of the top performers among lower-middle-income nations.

The delegation features a diverse group of startups addressing real-world challenges across multiple sectors. In education, solutions include platforms that automate assessment checking and streamline school management for hybrid learning environments. In agriculture, several startups are leveraging AI and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to enhance greenhouse operations, monitor crop health, and improve farm productivity while lowering costs. Meanwhile, innovations in property technology and indoor navigation are introducing smarter systems for managing buildings, tracking user movement, and generating consumer insights. Complementing these are climate-focused technologies designed to strengthen weather monitoring and disaster preparedness through localized, data-driven systems.

These startups are supported by the Department of Science and Technology’s Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI), which plays a key role in advancing Filipino innovations through commercialization support, intellectual property assistance, and access to global markets. Their participation is funded through various government-backed initiatives aimed at elevating local technologies onto the international stage.

Scheduled for April 9 to 10, GITEX AI Asia 2026 will serve as a platform for the Filipino startups to connect with international investors, industry leaders, and potential partners. The event is expected to further boost the visibility of Philippine-developed AI solutions as the country continues to strengthen its presence in the global innovation ecosystem.
