AI for Good: The United Nations’ Leading Platform on Artificial Intelligence

UN’s AI for Good Platform Advances Global Push for Responsible

and Inclusive AI Governance

The United Nations’ premier platform on artificial intelligence, AI for Good, continues to position itself at the forefront of global efforts to harness AI for the benefit of humanity.

Led by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in partnership with more than 50 UN sister agencies, AI for Good brings together governments, industry leaders, researchers, and civil society to explore how artificial intelligence can address the world’s most pressing challenges. The initiative is co-convened with the Government of Switzerland, reinforcing its role as a neutral and inclusive global forum.

At its core, AI for Good seeks to unlock AI’s transformative potential not merely as a technological advancement, but as a tool for sustainable development, innovation, and inclusive growth.

In a significant development for global AI governance, the inaugural Global Dialogue on AI Governance will be launched under the framework of the landmark United Nations General Assembly Resolution A/79/L.118 on AI. The dialogue, hosted by the UN Secretary-General with support from the ITU, will take place alongside the 2026 AI for Good Global Summit.

The back-to-back events are expected to strengthen international cooperation and shape policies that ensure AI development remains aligned with human rights, ethical principles, and global development goals.

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape economies and societies, AI for Good stands as the UN’s central platform for guiding that transformation toward positive and inclusive outcomes worldwide.
